The British Red Cross urgently needs volunteers to deliver a new “Reaching Out” service in the Ashford area funded by Land Rover UK.
“Reaching Out” aims to support people to continue to live safely and independently in their own homes. Working with vulnerable people to understand what their specific needs and challenges to living independently might be, “Reaching Out” will offer short term help to enable people find the right support for them. Whether this is practical assistance following a stay in hospital or helping them find out more about services in their local area, “Reaching Out” can help with rebuilding lost confidence and reconnecting with people and their communities.
Staff and volunteers work alongside each other in the delivery of this service and volunteers are required to complete Red Cross Induction training as well as specific Independent Living modules.
All out of pocket travel expenses will be reimbursed and volunteers will be rewarded by being part of a large humanitarian organisation and the Land Rover team.
How to get in touch Please contact the local British Red Cross Client Support Centre and ask about the “Reaching Out” service/volunteering. Volunteer enquiries can be taken by phone: 01622 690 011 or Email: ILCR_SouthEastAdmin@redcross.org.uk.
